2017 – Head Of The Marina Regatta

In front of my wife, family, friends, and sea lions, I finished! It’s hard to hold your breath for 32 minutes and row 5,000m in a single scull, but I was holding my breath for fear of falling in. I didn’t disappoint myself or my fans as I did indeed finish the race.

This was probably one of the most exciting moments of my life and I’ve had a few thrills. I trained over a year on the water and on the rowing machine. This race proved to me that it was not only fun and good for you to row, but it was even more exciting to join the ranks of those that compete. I was amazed and thrilled by the number of people who showed up early on a Sunday morning to cheer me on. You fans were fantastic! I could hear you from hundreds of yards out and coming in afterwards to say hello to all of you was icing on the cake.
